Invasive Species (by jreidko)

At the site of a residential subdivision being built or within the skeletal structure of a high rise under construction, this would be as hidden as if it were made of glass. But here it is almost as if some invasive specie of techno-vegetation has been accidentally deposited in the middle of a forest by some unaware backpacker carrying the seed in the fold of a windbreaker. Later, a light rain fell, which allowed the seed to germinate in the warm soil. The early growth of the structure attracts animals that shelter below it's water tight but gas permeable membrane which evolved in circumstances where nature has selected for these advantageous traits. Eventually this single structure will develop a more robust and rigid surface of glass and steel, and seed more of these constructions which will eventually, if left to it's own devices, become an entire city.
